These Terms of Service govern the subscription of the monthly plans of the digital newspaper Granada Noticias (hereinafter, "the Platform"). Our plans are configured as a support, membership, and community patronage subscription model for sustaining independent local journalism. By subscribing to any of our plans or interacting with our platform, you acquire the status of collaborating member and fully accept these terms.

2. Purpose of the Premium Service
The Premium subscription of Granada Noticias allows the user to access exclusive content and other benefits detailed on the subscription page. Access to this content is digital and immediate upon payment confirmation.
3. Registration and Access via Google OAuth
To facilitate and secure access, Granada Noticias uses the Google OAuth authentication system.
By registering or logging in with your Google account, you agree that we receive your basic public information (name and email) exclusively to manage your account and subscription on our platform.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Google account, and you are solely responsible for any activity carried out under your profile on Granada Noticias.
4. Prices, Taxes (4% VAT) and Payments
Prices and Currency: The prices applicable to each subscription plan are those indicated on the website at the time of contracting and are shown in Euros (€).
Super-reduced VAT (4%): In compliance with Spanish tax regulations, digital newspapers and magazines are subject to the super-reduced 4% VAT rate, aligning them with printed press. All prices shown on Granada Noticias already include this tax.
Payment Gateway (Stripe): All payments are processed through Stripe, an external payment platform that complies with the highest security and encryption standards (PCI-DSS). Granada Noticias does not store your credit or debit card details at any time. By subscribing, you accept Stripe's own terms of service.
5. Automatic Renewal and Cancellation
Automatic Renewal: To ensure uninterrupted service, subscriptions (monthly or annual) will renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle. The amount will be charged to the payment method provided through Stripe.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your user dashboard ("My Account"). Cancellation will prevent future charges and your Premium access will remain active until the end of the current billing period you have already paid for.
6. Exception to the Right of Withdrawal
European and Spanish consumer protection regulations (Art. 103 of the General Law for the Protection of Consumers and Users) establish a 14-day right of withdrawal. However, since Granada Noticias provides digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, by accepting these conditions and beginning to enjoy Premium content immediately after payment, the user expressly consents to lose their right of withdrawal.
7. Printed Magazine Terms
The subscription to any plan that includes delivery of the printed magazine or other physical benefits of Granada Noticias grants the collaborating member, in addition to all the digital benefits of the platform, the preferential right to receive such items at their home when they are actually edited, manufactured, and distributed.
Printed publications are not subject to a fixed or obligatorily monthly frequency. The appearance of new physical issues will depend strictly on the editorial calendar and the budget availability of the media outlet at any given time. By accepting these conditions, the user expressly agrees that the absence of a printed edition in a given month shall not constitute a breach of contract, since the amount paid covers the overall and ongoing maintenance of the project.
7.1. Geographical scope of distribution and postal shipments
The distribution of the printed magazine or other physical items is adapted to the media outlet's capabilities and will be managed according to the address provided by the user through Stripe under two modalities:
a) Ordinary local distribution (Urban Core): For those addresses located within the consolidated urban core of the municipality of Olesa de Montserrat, delivery will be carried out directly and in person by the media team. This delivery method expressly excludes outlying areas, farmhouses, or housing developments that do not form part of the main urban center (such as, by way of example, the Rives Blaves development).
b) Postal delivery (Excluded areas and outside Olesa): If the user's address is outside the urban core of Olesa de Montserrat (including the municipality's housing developments, any other locality in Catalunya or the rest of the country), Granada Noticias will fully manage and bear the shipping costs through the ordinary postal service of Correos, at no additional cost to the subscriber.
Granada Noticias shall not assume any responsibility for delays, incidents, or losses of shipments directly attributable to the operation of Correos postal service, nor for failed deliveries due to the user having provided an incorrect, incomplete, or outdated address.
7.2. Registration and delivery address
The user registers for the service using their Google account. The delivery address for physical benefits is the one provided by the user during the payment process through the Stripe platform at the time of subscribing. The user is solely responsible for entering a correct, complete delivery address located within the distribution scope defined in section 7.1.
If the user needs to change their delivery address after contracting, they must notify Granada Noticias by writing to [email protected] with sufficient advance notice before the edition and distribution of the next shipment or publication. Granada Noticias shall not assume any responsibility for shipments not delivered as a result of an incorrect, incomplete, or outdated address attributable to the user.
7.3. Subscription management and cancellation
The user may manage their subscription and cancel it at any time from the subscriptions page, accessible through the Granada Noticias website. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period, without entitlement to a refund of the proportional part of the price already paid, except in cases provided for by the applicable consumer and user regulations. Items or issues already distributed prior to the cancellation date will not be subject to return or compensation.
For any questions or incidents related to the subscription, the user may contact the Granada Noticias team at [email protected].
7.4. Causes of non-delivery not attributable to Granada Noticias
Granada Noticias shall not assume any responsibility for items or issues not delivered in the following cases: (i) incorrect or incomplete address provided by the user at the time of contracting; (ii) change of address not communicated to Granada Noticias before distribution; (iii) address located outside the urban distribution area that prevents ordinary delivery for reasons attributable to the user and where the user has rejected or made impossible diversion to the ordinary Correos channel; (iv) force majeure or circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Granada Noticias, including adverse weather conditions, disturbances to public order, or any other circumstance that prevents or hinders ordinary distribution.
Products, items, or issues not delivered for any of the user-attributable reasons described above will not be resent or financially compensated.
8. Donations and Voluntary Contributions
In addition to subscription services, the Platform allows users to make financial donations freely and voluntarily to support Granada Noticias' journalistic project. In accordance with Spanish law (Civil Code), these contributions are considered irrevocable donations, are non-refundable, and do not entail the acquisition of any service, product, or consideration. Likewise, in compliance with Law 10/2010 on the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing, the user undertakes to ensure the lawful origin of the funds contributed, with the Platform reserving the right to request additional information for large donations if required by the competent authorities.
9. Privacy Policy and Billing Data
In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish data protection regulations (LOPDGDD), as well as current tax legislation in Spain, we inform you that we collect the personal data necessary to manage your access and fulfill our tax obligations. This collection is carried out through the secure payment platform Stripe (a duly authorized and legal platform in Spain).
In order to process payments and issue the corresponding legal receipts or simplified invoices, the requested data varies depending on the transaction:
Premium Subscriptions: An email address is required to obtain the benefits and send you the receipt or simplified invoice.
Donations: An email address is required to process the contribution and, where applicable, send the corresponding receipt of acknowledgment.
This data will be used exclusively for administrative, accounting, and tax management tasks, and will only be disclosed to tax authorities (Tax Agency) or to third parties when there is a legal obligation to do so.
10. Changes to Terms or Prices
Granada Noticias reserves the right to modify subscription prices or these terms. In the event of a price change, we will notify you via the email associated with your account at least 30 days before your next billing date. If you do not agree with the new price, you may cancel your subscription before it takes effect.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. For any dispute that may arise in the interpretation or application of these terms, both parties submit to the Courts and Tribunals of the consumer's place of residence, in accordance with current regulations. If you access from outside Spain, jurisdiction shall be that of the courts of Barcelona.
